The South Asia division

The economic growth of South Asia has prompted EDF Group to develop projects with its industrial partners in the region and its specialized fields of engineering: transmission network, hydroelectric and thermal production.

Strategic partnerships

Within the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), the countries of the “Greater Mekong” subregion (Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Burma and Cambodia) are working towards greater economic, political and electrical integration in the Mekong Basin, with Thailand and Vietnam as the prime movers. The EDF Group is a strategic partner to many ASEAN member countries.

The role of the South Asia division is to develop electrical infrastructures with its local partners, with a focus on 2 priorities: firstly, technical and economic factors, and secondly, acceptance by local populations.

The division is based in Bangkok. It oversees local offices in Hanoi (Vietnam) and in Delhi (India).

The division also oversees two subsidiaries in the region: MECO and NTPC .

Local offices in South Asia
